Around 60 councils now involved in planning or supporting more self and custom build housing

8 April 2014

Housing Minister Kris Hopkins told Parliament this week that around 60 councils were now involved in supporting the growth of the self and custom build sector. "And there are lots more considering how to put self-build into their draft plans," the Minister told the Commons.

Selby and Ansty MP Nigel Adams (main picture, far left) had quizzed the Minister, about the level of local council support there was for more self and custom build housing.

Could we have a list on the site that's kept up to date?

:-)

If you go to this link you'll see a map in the centre pages of this report of the UK that should help you (there's an updated version of the map at the end of the PD too) - http://www.nasba.org.uk/images/documents/nasbadocs201308_progress_report_2_2013_08v2.pdf

But please understand that the authorities that are doing things is in constant flux, so some new ones have recently been spotted 9and the're not on the map yet)

I agree with the first comment - an up to date map/ list of the good bad and indifferent councils would be a great addition to the site

Great news - but how do we find out who these councils are?

Have your say
